Jackson Walker LLP’s new Managing Partner: Wade Cooper
Jackson Walker LLP is a Texas-based law firm that has over 120 years of legal counseling experience, serving the United States and other nations. It has a collection of 330 lawyers distributed in its offices in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, San Angelo, Austin and Fort Worth.
Recently, the firm announced the appointment of Wade Cooper as its managing partner. It has also chosen David Moran, Susan Halsey and Matt Dow as the new city managing partners in Dallas, Fort Worth and Austin, respectively. Cooper succeeded Mike Wilson, who had been acting the firm’s managing partner ever since 1992. The change in positions is the conclusion of three years of succession preparation.
“Wade is a respected leader with great strategic vision, management experience, judgment and personality, and he’s the perfect choice as the firm’s new Managing Partner,” said Wilson.
When Wilson was still managing partner, the firm expanded and formed three other offices in Texas, with a total of 340 attorneys and earning revenues of over $174 million. Despite the change in position, Wilson would still continue to contribute to the firm.
In the 18 years that Wilson was managing partner, said Cooper, the practice of law significantly changed. He helped the firmed navigate such changes to rise up to the current position it has now in the modern legal market, while not compromising the core values that has been its foundation for more than a hundred years, he added.
Wade Cooper has been the managing partner of Jackson Walker’s office in Austin since 2006 and is still in the position, maintaining a legal practice apart from his other responsibilities. He will also administer the firm’s management committee that only has eight members. Dow, Halsey and Moran will also be members of the said committee.
