Roni Lynn Deutch Teams Up With New Jersey Nets to Do Taxes
Maybe the Tax Lady feels sorry for the struggling New Jersey Nets. Roni Lynn Deutch, leader of the Roni Deutch, A Professional Tax Corporation, is collaborating with the NBA team by giving fans a free state income tax return processing.
Most NBA gimmicks involve a free basketball or hot dogs. But for the February 5th New Jersey Nets vs. Orlando Magic game, New Jersey residents can receive a coupon for a free state tax return. The coupon is worth $29. Roni Deutch, A Professional Tax Corporation will also have representatives on hand at the game to answer tax questions. The national company have local branches at Hackensack, Bergenfield, and Fair Lawn.
“I know two things about sports fans: They take sports very seriously and they still have to deal with the IRS,” Roni Lynn Deutch said. She said it is a natural promotion as the NBA and tax seasons overlap.
“I think the wonderful thing about taxation is you have to dance with the IRS and, if you live in New Jersey, you’ve got to dance with the state tax entity as well,” Roni Lynn Deutch said.
Roni Lynn Deutch hoped there would be a big turnout for the game, despite the expense. “I pray to God we have to do 100,000 tax returns,” she said. “Believe me, I want to overwhelm my franchisees in New Jersey and do 100,000 tax returns, and let’s get some Nets wins, for goodness sakes.”
