In 2008, Latham & Watkins LLP revealed yearly revenue of more than $2 billion. The global law firm, founded in 1934 in Los Angeles, is the first firm to publicly disclose such important financial matter. With 2,100 attorneys and 28 offices in various parts of the world, Latham & Watkins has become a global firm of vast proportions, whether in terms of lawyers, service, or revenue.

Due to the way it works and handles colossal challenges, Latham & Watkins was awarded by Legal Business Magazine the honor of being the Law Firm of the Decade.

The American Lawyer has included Latham & Watkins in their Litigation Department of the Year survey three times: in 2004, 2006, and 2008. December 2006’s The American Lawyer issue also recognized Latham & Watkins as Am Law 200’s most admired firm. In 2007, the global law firm was chosen as one of the Best 20 Firms to Work For, one of only three New York-based large firms to get into the list. By 2008, Latham & Watkins has firmly established its position and has been chosen for The American Lawyer’s 2008 “A-List,” where they were declared 2nd out of a total of 200 U.S. law firms. Finally, in Vault Prestige’s List for 2009, Latham & Watkins placed 7th.
