A Paul Hastings press release titled “Paul Hastings Named Employer of Choice among PRC Law Firms by Asian Legal Business” came out last January 9, 2008 and reported that the international law firm, Paul Hastings, was chosen as the Employer of Choice among all law firms in China. This was given proof by Asian Legal Business (ALB) magazine’s yearly survey among more than 20,000 lawyers.
In the news section of Lawyrs.net, an article titled “Skadden Private Equity Partner Kenju Watanabe Joins Paul Hastings in Tokyo” announced the move of former Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP partner Kenju Watanabe to the Tokyo office of Paul Hastings. Watanabe’s expertise includes Corporate Law, securities, and tax advice.
On the September 17, 2008 issue of Atlanta Business Chronicle, an article titled “Paul Hastings Snags Tax Team from King & Spalding” revealed that the international law firm hired Robert Culbertson, Michael Caballero, and Kurt Baca; all of whom previously served as King & Spalding LLP’s global team. The trio is expected to boost Paul Hastings’ performance in international taxation.
Lawfuel.com, in a report posted last September 24, 2008, in an article titled “Paul Hastings Moves San Diego Office to La Jolla Commons Office Tower,” revealed that the law firm announced the move of its San Diego office to a new high-rise location near the University Town Center area; at the La Jolla Commons Office Tower.
BLT: The Blog of LegalTimes came out with a news article titled “Paul Hastings Adds Partner,” which stated that the international law firm has enlisted the services of former Sidley Austin partner Stephen Kinnaird. He started working as co-chair for appellate practice and as one of the firm’s partners last September 15, 2008. Kinnaird welcomed the move to Paul Hastings as an opportunity to “build something” of his own.
