David A. Katz
David A. Katz is an American lawyer who specializes on mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance. He is also well-experienced in dealing with complicated security transactions. David Katz is one of the partners of the large firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.
David Katz took his pre-law degree at Brandeis University where he graduated magna cum laude in 1985. He went to New York University School of Law where he finished cum laude in 1988.
This American Bar Association member counsels boards of directors and committees focused on corporate governance and crisis management.
Aside from his duties as a partner at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, David A. Katz
is also involved with New York University’s Center for Law and Business where he is a professional fellow. For more than 10 years, David Katz has taught at his alma mater, New York University School of Law, sharing with students his knowledge on Mergers and Acquisitions. He also co-teaches a joint law and business course on mergers and acquisitions at Vanderbilt University School of Law’s Owen Graduate School of Management.
Separate from his duties as a member of the American Bar Association, David Katz also spends his time fulfilling his obligations as a Federal Securities Laws Committee member. His other professional memberships include those with the New York State Bar Association, the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals, the National Association of Corporate Directors, and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
