Thomas A. Moore
Having a cause to achieve is something that Thomas A. Moore says motivates him in his years as a medical malpractice lawyer. Earlier in his law career, given his background in spiritual studies, he became interested first in becoming a Catholic missionary priest and looked at the spiritual aspect as his prime motivation. When he was 26, Thomas Moore decided not to pursue priesthood and instead decided to apply and pursue law school. While studying at the Fordham University School of Law, he worked part time jobs during the day to support himself until he graduated from law school.
“My cause is to champion for those who are most in need, and for those who most need me now,” Thomas Moore said of his motivations as a lawyer.
Since obtaining his JD in 1972, Thomas Moore was involved numerous cases and has won hundreds of verdicts and settlements costing millions of dollars each. He is a member of the Inner Circle of Advocates. He has also received numerous citations and awards including the National Law Journal’s Lawyer of the Year honor twice. His reputation has been continuously built up as he went on to pile up victories that boosted his resumé as a trial lawyer.
Thomas Moore says that he has always enjoyed going to court but has never compromised his profession in order to get a fair settlement. He further comments that getting a fair and just settlement for clients is preceded by the attorney’s readiness to go to court and establishing a reputation that even the opposition would respect. Not compromising one’s word for him was one of the most important things every lawyer must keep in mind.
Thomas A. Moore was married to Judith A. Livingston, a fellow lawyer.
